Champion who hota hai jispe sabki nazar hoti hai. Jo sabke
nishane par hota hai. Jo kahin bhi,
kabhi bhi aur kahin se bhi jeetne ka dam rakhta hai. It is easier to be an
underdog than to be a true champion and live it!
Underdog has courage. Equally important is that he often has the sympathies, prayers and blessings of the crowd. Champion has the ability and the experience but people may actually want him to fail. This is one huge factor which is often misunderstood and disregarded in the final equation.
Also there can be many underdogs and challengers but only one champion. So, in a sense, the champion has the whole world against him...
Being a champion needs ability, hardwork, discipline, fortitude and immense character. When we look at a champion, we only see his wins. What we don't see is the years of sweat, blood, toil. Empty stadiums, frustrations, falling down, getting up only to fall again, and still finding the strength to get up yet again.
And then comes an underdog. And we want him to win because in him we see ourselves - as someone who has never been a champion. But the fact, rather paradoxical, is that an underdog can't win till he becomes a champion.
Simply, winning happens as a consequence of being a champion, not vice' versa!
