Majority of people by definition are average, for that is what
average means. Average in intelligence, average in courage, average in
creativity, average in resourcefulness…
And since democracy is majority rule,
it is also average rule – a government of average people, for average people
and by average people…
It is least surprising, therefore, that in many cases we
find democracy becoming a stumbling block and a deterrent to above average,
extraordinary people, work and achievement…
Who knows, maybe the essential
nature of excellence is undemocratic?
Or so it seems at times!
